What is a Frequency Generator?
A Frequency Generator (or Tone Generator) creates pure audio waves at specific frequencies. It allows you to produce everything from deep bass rumbles to high-pitched dog whistles.
Sound is measured in Hertz (Hz). Humans can typically hear from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz (20 kHz). As we age, we often lose the ability to hear the higher frequencies.
This tool uses synthesis to generate mathematically perfect sound waves. It's useful for tuning instruments (A4 = 440 Hz), testing speakers (finding resonant frequencies), or checking your own hearing.
